The University of Texas at El Paso’s College of Business Administration M.B.A. program received the Vision of Excellence Award on Saturday, Nov. 10 from the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
The award is bestowed upon an individual or group whose vision has grown from their past and the history of the people around them. The award, created in 2003, recognizes visionaries who chart new courses and break new ground while continuing to add value in all they do. It is one of the highest honors bestowed by the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“The El Paso Community is very fortunate to have such successful, fundamentally guided programs that are meeting the needs of not only our community, but the needs of the national business world,” said Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “With nationally recognized programs such as The University of Texas at El Paso’s Master of Business Administration program, we are able to cultivate young business leaders who are the promise of our community and the nation’s future. The College of Business Administration M.B.A. program successfully meets the challenges of providing opportunities and higher education for students and young entrepreneurs, graduating nearly 400 students annually who have earned an M.B.A., almost 60 percent of whom are Hispanic. ”
The award was presented at the El Paso Hispanic Chamber’s annual “Fiesta Celebration and Piñata Bash” at the Airport Wyndham Hotel. UTEP College of Business Administration Dean Robert Nachtmann, D.B.A., accepted the award. UTEP MBA staff was also in attendance for this celebration.
