Master of Accountancy
The UTEP MAcc is for people preparing for careers in professional accounting fields or for practicing accountants wishing to increase
their knowledge. Completion of the Master of Accountancy degree meets the educational requirements to take the CPA exam in Texas.
There are two components to the Master of Accountancy program. The Pre-Master of Accountancy requirements consist of 36 semester hours of courses in
accounting, business law, economics, quantitative methods, marketing and finance. These courses may
be waived for students who have completed equivalent courses.
The course of study for the Master
of Accountancy consists of 18 hours of study in accounting tailored to the area of concentration chosen, 6 hours of
business courses, a 3-hour organizational communication course, and 3 hours of business strategy.
MAcc courses are conveniently scheduled in the evenings.

AACSB Accreditation
The UTEP College of Business Administration
has earned AACSB Accreditation for both its Business Administration and
Accounting programs. Less than 5 percent of business schools world-wide have
earned this prestigious designation from AACSB International—The Association
to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—which provides global leadership in
advancing management education.
