I want to welcome you to the web site of the Department of Economics and Finance at UTEP. The Department of Economics and Finance shares with the University and the AACSB Accredited College of Business Administration its
fundamental mission to provide the highest quality undergraduate education to the citizens of El Paso and the West Texas region, to
prepare them to function effectively in society, and to contribute to the quality of life in this community and region. The border
location of the University and the expertise developed by the faculty provide an environment that affords opportunities for students
to become knowledgeable, among other things, in international economics, international finance, and international business.
In the case
of the Master of Science in Economics, the border location of the University and College provides an environment that affords
opportunities for students to become knowledgeable in economic matters within the context of a graduate school education comparable to
that provided by other accredited institutions.
