Giorgio is an assistant professor of accounting at the College of Business Administration, University of Texas at El Paso. He previously taught at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He received his PhD in Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee, and a Laurea in Economics from Bocconi University, Italy. His research interests are in international and financial accounting. His papers have been published in various journals including The International Journal of Accounting, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Journal of International Accounting Research, Management International Review, Research in Accounting Regulation, Journal of Management and Governance. He is a member of the editorial review boards of The International Journal of Accounting, Journal of International Accounting, Auditing & Taxation and of Rivista dei Dottori Commercialisti (Italy). He was chair of the 2011 midyear meeting and is now the treasurer and webmaster of the International Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association. He is chartered accountant and statutory auditor in Milan, Italy.
