Dr Ousmane Seck is currently a Visiting Professor of Econometrics and Quantitative Methods in the College of Business Administration. He graduated with an MA and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kansas in 2006. He ranked at the top of his class with a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies in Economics from the Collaborative MA program in Economics for Francophone Universities in Africa (PTCI). He received a Maîtrise in Economics in 1995 from the university Cheikh Anta Diop with honors. Prior to his arrival at UTEP, he was a lecturer at California State University Fullerton. Dr Seck is a former Fulbright Scholar. His research interests are in Economic Development and Applied Microeconometrics. His current research is on pension plan funding, and on housing and financial wealth effects. His work has appeared in the Journal of Applied Econometrics, in the Journal of Statistics: Advances in Theory and Applications, and in Economics Bulletin.
