Market Microstructure, Investments, and Corporate Finance
Dr. James E. Upson joins the UTEP Faculty at the beginning of the fall 2009 as Assistant Professor for the Economics and Finance Department. He is expected to earn his Ph.D. degree in Finance from the University of Memphis this year. Prior to this he was working for Hayes-Lemmerz, Somerset, Kentucky as Engineering Manager, and prior to that at Ube Corporation, Mason, Ohio. His academic experience include working for the University of Memphis as well for the University of Indiana in previous years. Among the research papers he co-authored there are “Components of the speed of adjustment: The impact of informed trading and information” and The perfect Storm: Trading strategies of a fire sale” . Dr. Upson’s areas of interest are Market Microstructure, Investments and Corporate Finance.
