Dr. Feixue Xie has joined the Department of Economics and Finance as an Assistant Professor of Finance after receiving her Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000. Her B.A. was in Political Economics from Nanjing University, P.R. China. Prior to joining UTEP's faculty, she was an Assistant Professor of Finance at Southern Connecticut State University and an Assistant Professor of Economics at the National University of Singapore. She has many research papers published in high quality academic journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Financial Analysts Journal, International Review of Finance, International Review of Economics and Finance. She won the Best Paper Award in Investments at the FMA Annual Meeting in 2009. She has served as an ad hoc reviewer for many academic journals such as Financial Management, Financial Analysts Journal, and International Review of Finance. Dr. Xie's teaching experience is at undergraduate, graduate(AMBA and EMAB), and Ph.D. levels, with courses taught includes in Corporate Finance, Investment, International Finance, Financial Economics, Corporate Governance. Her research interests include asset pricing and equity market anomalies, firm valuation, emerging markets.
